APPLICATIONS FOR DOUBLE MAJOR – MINOR PROGRAMS

According to Ankara University Directives for Double Major Program Article 2, a double major program is the opportunity given to a student registered at an undergraduate program of the university to participate in another undergraduate program. The undergraduate program that the student is registered in at the time of application is called “major”, and the second undergraduate program that the student is accepted in is called “the second major”.

Minor program allows the students who are successfully carrying out their studies in their majors to take courses from a second undergraduate program they are interested in, and thus to expand their knowledge and get a certificate.

Applications are made directly to the Department of Students Affairs.

When a student registered in an undergraduate program applies for a minor program by meeting the required conditions and succeeds in the minor program, s/he may be allowed to get a minor program certificate in addition to his/her own undergraduate program. Similarly, when a student registered in an undergraduate program applies for a double major program by meeting the required conditions and succeeds in the second major program, s/he may be allowed to get a second undergraduate diploma. Decisions about the double major and minor programs are taken by the Senate.

Double major graduation criteria of our departments and conditions for acceptance are given in Attachment 4-1 .
