Professor Tekin graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Food Science and Technology in 1987. After a short period in private sector, he got MS and PhD degree from same University on Fats and Oils in 1990 and 1994, respectively. He visited Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition in Iowa State University for post doctoral studies for 18 months between 1996-1998 and became an Assoc. Prof. in Ankara University in 1998. He visited same deparetment in Iowa State University as visiting scientist for 12 months between 2002-2003. He attended to Professor position in Ankara University in 2004. Since that time, he has been doing research on fats and oils technology in Food Engineering Department in Ankara University.
Prof. Tekin has been president of Turkish Lipid Group, board member of Euro Fed Lipid, member of National Food Commission and head of Fats and Oils sub-group in Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
