“Faculty of Engineering 2nd Career Day” was organized at the recreation field in the Tandoğan Campus of our university on 14 May 2015, Thursday, for the students of the Faculty of Engineering to plan their future professional lives and get information. Various activities, surprise gifts, raffles, and seminars at the Blue Hall of our faculty and the Red Hall of the Faculty of Science were the events of the day.

After a moment of silence and reading of the Turkish national anthem, the opening speeches were delivered by our dean, Prof. Dr. Aziz Tekin, and our vice-rector, Prof. Dr. Ayhan Elmalı. Opening speeches were followed by two other speeches – “The Role of Success in Industry” by Dr. Orhan Yılmaz, General Director of ETİ Mine; and “At the Edge of Professional Life… Career Awareness” by Prof. Dr. İlkay Savcı, Coordinator of Career Studies of our university. Then, the participant companies’/institutions’ stands were visited in the recreation field and a student from the Department of Geological Engineering, Mustafa Çağdaş Yıldız, performed a music recital.

The seminars of the day were as follows: “The Place of Kariyer.net in Employment” by Gültaç Babaoğlu, Senior Training Specialist; “Information Technologies in Engineering/Netcad” by Tunç Emre Toptaş, Director of Netcad Technical Services and Training; and “Answers of the Interview Are Hidden in Your Life” by Devrim Aksu, Director of ASELSAN Human Resources in the Blue Hall of our faculty, and “Having A Career in HAVELSAN” by Mustafa Elçin, Advisor to the General Director of HAVELSAN and Burcu Özdoğan, Senior Specialist in Human Resources Planning and Assessment; and “Career in Microsoft” by Murat Yeşilkaya, Microsoft Technical Customer Manager in the Red Hall of the Faculty of Science.

Faculty of Engineering 2nd Career Day activities, performed by the intense participation of many companies/institutions and students, ended with a concert organized by the contributions of Etimesgut Municipality and viewed by about 5000 students.
